HERE’S WHAT’S UP: CHRISTMAS

Beautiful Christmas morning it was for me, yesterday.
The first thing the older girls scream when they wake up is, “It’s Christmas!!!” We go downstairs, have a little chit-chat together. Then they ask for the umpteenth time, “can we open our presents???” And I say, “No! You will do that after breakfast.”
We go for breakfast -The amazing chocolate bread you see above. This particular one is made in rolls because I want it to be easy for each person to pull out a roll and enjoy. They devour the bread together with some fruit salad and some milk.
After breakfast comes the moment they have been waiting for. It’s gift opening time! They are all radiant as they unravel the boxes that have their names on them.
“This is what I have always wanted!”
“Dad, see what I got!”
“This is so cute!”
Their happy voices fill the room. I feel so happy when they smile, giggle and scream for joy. How wonderful it is to open a gift! You are filled with anticipation and eventually joy when your gift meets or even surpasses your expectations. Christ is the best gift one can ever open. He is our very special gift sent to us from heaven.
The rest of the day is all about chilling at home, making millions of calls and sending millions of text messages to say, “merry Christmas!” Then eating, more eating, receiving more gifts, giving, making a visit later at night, and collapsing on the couch at night to watch a movie with Mr N.
We attended church on Saturday and it was awesome, remembering that awesome night when Christ was born. It was also great to see a spike in church attendance – an indication that people remember Christ during Christmas.
A big THANK YOU to the amazing Jessica of Jessica Hugo Inspire blog for featuring me on her blog. You can read the interview about my blogging journey here.
Friends, this is the last week of 2016. Make it awesome.

Now you make me want to have kids before my time. *let my parents not see this comment o*
