If you love groundnuts you wouldย loooove Peanut Burger Snack. This is a snack made by coating groundnuts otherwise known as peanuts with flour and other ingredients.
Oh my! Does deliciousness come any better than this? Peanut Burger is so crunchy, slightly sweet, nutty and so addicting!
Warning: these little balls of food ecstasy won’t last long after you make them. You might start making them every week! I’m not complaining, though.
Peanut Burger is a well-known snack in Nigeria and Ghana. I first fell in love with the commercial brand version in Nigeria. I could never get enough of it.
It was fast gaining popularity in Cameroon before I left. It is colloquially called “peanuts” there. I could see it in so many stores and snack stands.
I don’t know if that is still the case. Are “Peanuts” still so popular in pays? Please let me know below if you are in Cameroon right now.
So a while ago I got a couple of requests to do a recipe for this. I was mad at myself for not making this in a long time… over two years! Why Precious, why??? I repent.
Making Peanut Burger Snack could be time-consuming but it is quite easy and the taste pays for the time. I promise.
All you need is some raw peanuts. Then you coat the peanuts with some flour, eggs, sugar salt and nutmeg if you like. Viola, peanut burger!

Put your groundnuts in a bowl and select to take out all the bad ones.
Mix together flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt and set aside.
Beat eggs together with sugar in another bowl.
Pour a little of the egg mixture over the groundnuts. Shake bowl until mixture coats all the groundnuts.
Sprinkle some of the flour mixture over the groundnuts and shake.
Repeat 4 and 6 above until groundnuts are completely coated with flour. If some stick together, use your fingers to separate them and keep going.
Heat oil on medium heat and fry in batches until golden brown.
Allow to cool completely then you can serve or store in an airtight container.
It is okay to have some flour at the base of your bowl when coating the groundnuts. Make sure you separate the nuts from the flour before frying.

Since November 5, 2017 at 3:11 pm I asked this question but no reply whereas other questions as after me has been attended to.
Pls how can I preserve my peanut, the one I did got soft after some days hoping that it โll be getting dry more since I packed it into a cellophane bag i.e nylon. Thank u for being there for us.
Hi Kemi,
So sorry, I must have missed your question. I always store my peanuts in a bottle (a large water bottle that has been washed and dried) and lock it tight. That way, the peanuts remain fresh and crunchy. The nylon bag might not work well because somehow air might get into it. So use a bottle and be sure to lock it tight. Hope this helps.

Hi dear,
Have you tried my method yet? You could watch the video and follow exactly how I make it. That should give you smooth peanuts.
pls ma, mine didn’t come out cripsy but was soft, what went wrong? Can you use a milk cup to illustrate the measurement for easy understanding becos am still trying to get it right.
Hi Ozioma, I use the standard American measuring cups. I’m sure you can get them from supermarkets.
Mine was super OK for a first time practice. Thank you precious.
So glad to know that, Chika. Thanks for the feedback!
oh my goodness ,aunty precious you are a precious blessing to me,I think I av learnt a lot,God bless you…
God bless you too, dear. Thanks for your encouraging words.
hello precious, pls will it turn out nice if I make it without baking soda? and can I use roasted peanuts? must it be raw?
Hi Theresa, do you mean baking powder? I have never tried it without baking powder. In always use raw peanuts. Roasted peanuts might get overcooked. If you choose to roast the peanuts, I advise that you roast them very lightly. Hope this helps, dear.
Yes, thks for the reply.
Pls how can I preserve my peanut, the one I did got soft after some days hoping that it ‘ll be getting dry more since I packed it into a cellophane bag i.e nylon. Thank u for being there for us.
Thanks for this recipe Precious. Please I want to know if you probably washed the groundnut before you started, because I thought it should be washed first not knowing the process it went through. what’s your take on this?
No, I didn’t wash it Blessing. If you choose to wash it, then you’ll have to ensure that it dries out before you proceed to make the peanut burgers.
I have been following your post. You made this easy. Well done Precious
Thanks for this ideal you showed us, please precious did you make use of the all the three eggs mixed together for the 2cups of flour&2cups of groundnut? because from the video I saw that you poured the mixed eggs gradually following gradual sprinkling of the flour until well coated,so what happen to the remaining mixed egg. Thk u.
Hi Kemi, I normally just mix whatever is left of the egg with the flour that sticks to the bottom of the bowl while coating the peanuts. I then cut and fry that as some form of chin chin. Unfortunately, there is always some left over coating in this recipe. So I repurpose it by frying. Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing this Knowledge with us. pls i want to know if i should make use of the hole egg both the yoke and the whitish part of the egg
Yes, use the whole egg.
